The Xenith Clarity Expanse

The Xenith Clarity Expanse brings the Xenith into current times. Featuring expanded scales, alternative layouts, and bottom notes, the Expanse looks to push the boundaries and provide greater melodic opportunities while still being in the compact 20” shell.

The Expanse is a place where I can explore my creative side and take a break from the rhythm of usual production. As a result, I do not accept orders for the Expanse or make them on commission.

The notes in brackets [like this] indicate that they are bottom notes. The notes are always listed low to high. Take a deep dive on Xenith Expanse scale design.

F# Equinox13 - [C#] [D] F#/ [G#] A C# D E F# G# A C# F# - $2,600usd - SOLD

This is a truly unique instrument. Depending on what root note you choose, you can swing from C# Minor, to D Major, to F# Minor, to A Major. It has 5 sets of octave pairs and both C# and F# have three octave pairs. It ranges from C#3 to F#5 which covers the vast majority of handpan ranges. The low C#, D, and F# all have apexes (outies) giving them all the distinct ‘center note’ sound. The note layout is such that is is still right/left/right/left sequentially, low to high, making this complex scale a simple to play as possible. Read more about this Xenith Expanse here.

I purchased the F# Equinox 13 Xenith Expanse; it arrived this week and is stunning!!! This is my sixth purchase from Xenith Handpans, and each handpan has been exquisite and a joy to play! This newest handpan is no exception— it’s effortless to play, and the resonances of each note are perfectly balanced! The bottom notes sound incredible— I LOVE this tuning and the layout— so many scale possibilities! Thank you, Colin!!! I will order again!

F# La Sirena- F#/ [G#] A C# D# E F# G# A C# F#

$2,000usd - SOLD

La Sirena in this range, for me, presents differently. While it still still has its whimsical feel with the ‘accidental’ D#, it has a stronger minor feel. The addition of the low G# bottom note lends itself to big, classical chord progressions.

Eb SaDyeD12 - Eb/ [F] [G] Ab Bb C D Eb F G Bb Eb

$2,200usd - SOLD

This is an extension of one of my all time favorite scales. With the addition of the low F and G on the bottom you have the ability to switch from Eb Major, to F minor, to G/C minor.
