The Xenith Classic
The Xenith Classic Kurd10 is a return to the foundation of one of the most established scales in the handpan world. Before bottom notes and extended layouts, we simply called it a Kurd9: nine notes around the tone circle with the central Ding, creating the classic D Kurd 9+1 layout—D3 | A3 Bb3 C4 D4 E4 F4 G4 A4 C5. It’s the configuration countless players have learned on and the standard layout used by many online lessons and teachers. Made from modern stainless steel, the Xenith Classic strips away the added complexity and cost of extended models without compromising the sound and tuning quality expected from a Xenith. Simple, versatile, expressive, and remarkably deep, it’s a classic for a reason.

Scale
The D Kurd is the modern handpan standard—and for good reason. Its minor character is moody and expressive while remaining intuitive, versatile, and remarkably easy to explore. It’s one of the most widely played handpan scales in the world, which means many teachers, online lessons, and tutorials are built around this exact layout. Whether you’re picking up a handpan for the first time or want a classic configuration with surprising musical depth, Kurd is hard to beat.
